Proving Des Moines is NOT boring

More GetLitDSM: The Broken Heart Diet launches Thursday

Local author and Des Moines is Not Boring writer, Tom Formaro, invites DSMINB readers to join the book launch event for his new novel, The Broken Heart Diet this Thursday, June 12th.

The event starts at 7:00pm and will be held in Centros private party space (you know the food will be good). Books will be available for purchase that evening. Tom will sign books, and do a brief reading.

The-Broken-Heart-Diet-E-bookThis is going to be a pretty big evening. You see, I’m married to Tom, and he’s been working on this book for almost as long as I’ve known him. Not to be cliché (but I will anyway) it takes a small village to get a book out into the world, not to mention Tom’s countless hours of work, his miles walked in pacing with thought, and my reading and proofing draft upon draft. To open the shipping boxes and hold the actual printed copy of the book was really quite something.

The book launch will be our way to celebrate with friends and family who have been on the journey with us, and thank the fantastic, supportive community of fellow artists, writers, owners and creators that I have so come to love about Des Moines.

We hope you can join us. And remember my four favorite words: there will be cake.

Oh, and what is the book about? Let’s just say it puts the “sauce” back into “saucy.”
